Common Sports Physio Treatments
Sports injuries often have more than one cause. Our expert team are experienced working with athletes and know how to identify the root cause of these problems. We’ll analyse how you’re moving, and tailor a plan to improve your movement patterns with the aim of getting you beyond baseline.
Identifying the root cause of a problem is key to improving it.
Our movement assessments hunt for the underlying biomechanical issues to any sporting problem, suitable for athletes recovering from injury or as preventative care for those looking to push themselves further.
Through techniques such as joint mobilisation, PNF stretching, deep tissue release and myofascial release, manual sports therapy is designed to stretch your muscles, get your blood flowing and improve flexibility.
This can help us figure out what’s gone wrong, and how to correct it, to get you back out there as soon as possible.
It’s common for a focus on one area of the body to lead to issues in another.
By understanding how your body moves, we can identify weaknesses and faulty movement patterns, and tailor an exercise programme to address your overall function and performance.
Don’t let pain get in the way of reaching your peak sports performance.
Where required, we’ll use pain management techniques such as soft tissue massage, acupuncture, taping and more to help mitigate and manage your pain levels, so you can focus on recovery.
Dry needling is a common pain management technique used to stimulate the muscles and improve range of motion, while also offering pain relief.
By targeting myofascial trigger points (knots and tender spots) through dry needling, we can aim to increase blood flow, manage local pain and reduce tightness.
